We’re pretty keen on the new stuff here at Tradehooks HQ, and Australian farmers be damned, local produce doesn’t get much fresher than the stuff they’re churning out over at Triple J Unearthed. Last year’s Unearthed High winners Howl have been on high rotation with their winning single Blackout for a couple of months now and we reckon they’re okay. The six-piece out of Ballarat are impressing with their garage/rockabilly sound and should be one to watch in twenty ten. And those keys. Oh those keys.
Anyway, they’re playing most states on their upcoming Anyone But Us EP launch tour and if you dig what you hear, you could do worse than check them out. Dates below.

Just had to share this one to you guys. It’s a cover of Bag Raiders’ track Shooting Stars which recently came in at number 18 in Triple J’s Hottest 100 of 2009.
This is so different from the original at first it will almost certainly make you laugh. But if you listen to it as it is, not as a cover version of a dance track, it really is quite mesmerizing.

New Navy have recently been in the studio working hard on a couple of tracks. Producing some very polished indie dance tracks, with a review from Tom Ballard (Triple J) giving them 4/5 for their track Animals. With recent support slots to the Miami Horror band and Dappled Cities, They are one to watch in 2010.

The first song is quite minimal, but the bass in it is amazing.
My fav remix of No Security, the song is a major disappointment from Crookers, but Bart B More saved the day with this mega remix.
The last song by SebastiAn, is crazy, 11min build up, then he unleashes a tidal wave of noise. Im gonna admitt something, if ANYONE made this song, i would hate it forever, but because SebastiAn made it, its not bad lol
