vampire weekend FAIL = Holy Ghost! WIN

if you like vampire weekend, you probably know this by now. the polo ralph lauren wearing band had one single show booked at Oxford arts factory on the 21st Nov tickets were to go on sale on the 19th of October 2 days before the show went on sale it was sold out.

WTF!?!?!?!

what kind of fuckin promoter sells out a show before it even goes on sale?

a retard? answer yes

apparently, there is some fggty fan club with an access code.

i bet none of those fans flew from sydney to melbourne last year to see them play at the bandroom, coz they missed out on tix coz they were too hung over to wake up at 9am!

tradehooks got in contact with someone who knows about wtf went on, and this is what they said

on this occasion, the promoter requested that the event page be set up and listed however prior to the general public on-sale, wanted to offer the Vampire Weekend fan club pre-sale access to the tickets.

This was executed with an expectation that the remainder of tickets following the pre-sale would be offered to the general public. unexpectedly the pre-sale was so popular that fan club members purchased all the tickets on offer.

it is not moshtix’s intention on this occasion nor any other to promote an event and not offer tickets for sale. There are situations that are out of our control as per the request of promoters and venues, which we need to comply with as part of our service to them

As far as we are aware no further shows have been announced etc.

how dumb are they? downsizing the sold out within 2 hours venue from last year? and then only offering fan club cnts pre-sale tix

so you’re probably thinkin, why dont you just go to melbourne again?

well ill tell you. if a band cares that much about their fuckin fan club members, with their fggty mini badges on their op shop fashion blazers. then they can suck my balls, i am never paying to see them again.

on the up side, holy ghost! is playing the same night
